Most people probably think of Tom Arnold as a comic, but he's also done quite a bit of acting alongside some rather notable names.

Let's see. He was in "Nine Months" with Hugh Grant, Julianne Moore and Robin Williams. He was in "Hero" with Dustin Hoffman. He was in "True Lies" with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

He's done gigs as host, too, on "Best Damn Sports Show Period" on the Fox Sports Network and on "My Big Redneck Family" on CMT.

And he wrote, produced and starred in several TV programs: "The Jackie Thomas Show," "Tom" and "The Tom Show."

All that said, yes, Arnold is a comic first, and he's still frequenting the comedy circuit in between his other work. He'll be doing stand-up this weekend at Comix at Mohegan Sun, so, fans of Arnold in any of his professional guises, go see him live.

    Tom Arnold, 8 tonight, 8 p.m. Fri., and 8 and 10:30 p.m. Sat., Comix at Mohegan Sun; $20-$50; (860) 862-7000.
