It never hurts to get a plug from a celebrity at the Golden Globes. Migos’ single “Bad and Boujee” was certainly doing well on the charts, but it got a boost when Donald Glover, having just won the best television comedy Golden Globe for his show “Atlanta,” which is about Atlanta’s rap scene, referenced the number.

During his acceptance speech, Glover — who also has his rap persona of Childish Gambino — mentioned the Atlanta-based hip-hop trio Migos and their song “Bad and Boujee.”

"I'd like to thank the Migos — not for being on the show, but for making 'Bad and Boujee,'" he said. Backstage, he elaborated, "I think that they're the Beatles of this generation and they don't get a lot of respect, I think, outside of Atlanta. Not that they don't get respect, but there's a generation, sort of like the YouTube generation that I kind of came up with. There’s a generation of kids that are growing up on something that's completely separate from a whole group of people.

A few weeks later, “Bad and Boujee." Even before that, the trio, which performs Sunday at Foxwoods’ Grand Theater, was on the rise. Their 2013 song “Versace” was remixed by Drake and hit Billboard’s Hot 100. Migos, which consists of members Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff, has collaborated with everyone from Justin Bieber to Young Thug.
