Barry Manilow scheduled to sing at Foxwoods Saturday
Will Barry Manilow be all recovered by Saturday? Maniloonies sure hope so. Saturday is when he’s performing in concert at Foxwoods, you see.
Last week, on the other hand, Manilow was ailing. He cancelled shows in California and Illinois because, a statement said, he was on doctor’s orders to rest “due to sprained vocal chords (sic).”
The set at Foxwoods will be a combo of Manilow’s greatest hits and tunes from the album he released in April (it was released around the same time that Manilow announced in a People magazine cover story that he’s gay). “This Is My Town: Songs of New York” features such tunes as “This Is My Town,” “Downtown/Uptown” and “I Dig New York.” Tickets for the Foxwoods concerts, by the way, included a copy of the album. Nice touch.
Barry Manilow, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Foxwoods’ Grand Theater; $98.75-$253.75; 1-800-200-2882.
