Metal acts converge on 33 Golden Street for Saturday show

I don't hear any actual deviltry.

I'm talking about having given a comprehensive listen to music by a variety of metal-based bands performing Saturday in New London at 33 Golden Street. There's New Jersey's Know Your Enemy (blending Anthrax with Living Colour); Hartford's In the Red (driving melodicism a la Staind or Sevendust); New Haven's Fear the Masses (channeling Rage Against the Machine and Body Count); and Meriden's City of Iron (who summon Ulver or the melodic side of Opeth).

Each are accomplished acts — very good at what they do — and just because no actual deviltry is represented doesn't mean this won't be a high-volume, high-energy treatise on modern metal and hard rock.
