GNR keyboardist Dizzy Reed brings side project to Wolf Den

There are few professions where the nickname "Dizzy" works in a confidence-building fashion.

    You don't want:

    • "Rick, this is your surgeon, Dr. Dizzy Warnock. Dizzy's gonna try to use 16 pedicle screws at that pesky L3-L4 juncture of your spine... "

    • "Good afternoon, folks. My name's Dizzy Krueger. I'll be your pilot on this Apache helicopter as we try to evacuate 16 Navy SEALs from a firefight on a rocky cliff in Afghanistan... "

    • "At this point, as we negotiate the rope bridge and the vertical Ice Slope of Death at the 25,000-foot mark of our climb up Mount Everest, our guide from here on out will be Dizzy Bainwright... "

Of course, if you're a star in a rock band noted for debauchery, being known as "Dizzy" is probably a good thing. That's what happens with Dizzy Reed, longtime keyboardist for Guns N' Roses. Reed, along with Quiet Riot guitarist Alex Grossi and GNR drummer Frank Ferrer, will perform Saturday in the Mohegan Sun Wolf Den. Yes, you'll hear plenty of Guns hits and possible even "Cum On Feel the Noize."

Dizzy Reed, 8 p.m. Saturday, Mohegan Sun Wolf Den; free; 1-800-745-3000.
