Larry the Cable Guy plays Foxwoods

Larry the Cable Guy (Willy Sanjuan, Invision/AP)

Daniel Lawrence Whitney is a hilarious guy. You’ve never heard of the name? Well, does Larry the Cable Guy ring a bell? Yup, that’s the man. And what about that deep, Southern drawl that is so characteristic of the comedian? You guessed it, that’s not real either.

The self-proclaimed “linguist chameleon” will be coming to Foxwoods Friday on tour, pleasing fans with his Southern and American political humor.

Larry the Cable Guy has been around for more than two decades, and quite frankly, I don’t remember a time when Larry the Cable Guy and his back-road, country swagger weren’t making headlines. He was always either on stage, on the big screen or even in a talking birthday card that would spit out his famous catchphrase, “Git-R-Done,” when you opened it.

Disclaimer: if you want him to come fix your television set after the show, you’re going to be out of luck. Maybe give Daniel Lawrence Whitney a call.

Larry the Cable Guy, 8 p.m. Friday, Foxwoods’ Grand Theater; $43-$79; 1-800-200-2882.
