When saxophonist Charles Neville died last year, it was sad and in a way frightening to realize it was no longer possible to see the Neville Brothers live. That's cruel. Now, I just heard that Art Neville — Papa Funk, the family patriarch as well as the band's organist and the gentleman holding down that baritone voice on those lustrous harmonies — has also passed away.
