What's a basketball education worth at UConn?
Apparently almost $679 million.
According to a Wall Street Journal story, former UConn players have made a combined $678,809,430 in the NBA since 1985. That total ranks the school sixth on Basketball's Alumni Loot Index.
Richard Hamilton and Ray Allen are the top earners from UConn. No individual figures were disclosed.
North Carolina holds down the top spot at $852,902,514, followed by Duke ($808,900,881), Arizona ($737,802,141), Georgetown ($727,262,515) and Michigan ($715,449,222).
Other Big East teams in the top 25 include Syracuse ($344,036,690) at 17th, Cincinnati ($305,406,757) at 18th and Villanova ($270,966,890) at 23rd.
Alcorn State ($70,000), Cleveland State ($53,834), San Diego State ($52,033), Northwestern State ($26,917) and Lebanon Valley ($5,000) comprise the bottom five out of 269 teams on the list.
