Montville High School celebrated the Tibetan New Year last Thursday by eating Tibetan foods and displaying Tibetan flags and tapestries. The flags and tapestries belonged to Dr. Eugene Lewis.
Robert Thorn, coordinator of the English Language Learners program at Montville High, said in an email the school has a large Tibetan population (I profiled one Tibetan student, Tashi Lhamo, last year).
Micheley Angelina, a mentor to many Tibetan students, was also on hand for the celebration and so was Mayor Ronald K. McDaniel Jr.
