I fully support the surveillance work that the NewYork Police Department is doing in regard to Muslim groups. The federal agencies should step up as well and be more aggressive in their surveillance of these groups.
One just has to do a little research to find case after case of violence involving Islamic radicals - the 1972 Munich Olympic killings; 1983 U.S. Marine barracks attack; 1985 Achille Lauro cruise ship hijacked and a wheelchair bound passenger thrown overboard to his death; 1988 Pan Am Flight 103 blown out the sky; 1993 the first World Trade Center attack; 1998 U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, and 9/11 all carried out by such extremists. These are just a few cases.
Anybody who thinks that some of these extremists are not using Muslim schools and mosques to plan attacks better wake up before it is too late.
Many of the people, like many of our spineless government officials complaining that the surveillance is infringing on constitutional rights will scream the loudest if there is an attack resulting in many deaths.
