New London — The United States Coast Guard Band will present a preview of the 2012 concert tour on April 15 at 2 p.m. in Leamy Concert Hall.
This year’s tour takes the group from New Orleans, La., to Kansas City, Mo., with many notable stops in between.
The program includes “La Fiesta Mexicana,” an adaptation of “Amazing Grace” and a tribute to the “SNL” skit “More Cowbell!” Trumpet soloists Chief Musicians Longino Villarreal and Kelly Watkins are featured in the lyrical duet “Arabesque.” Soprano Soloist Musician First Class Megan Weikleenget performs a medley of classics from the George and Ira Gershwin songbook and “America, the Beautiful.”
The concert is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required. Leamy Concert Hall is handicapped accessible.
