Operation Fuel's executive director, Patricia Wrice, said fuel affordability affects one in every five Connecticut households.
Burn Calories for Fuel, held in Operation Fuel's 35th year, will start at 9 a.m. at the Metropolitan Learning Center on 1551 Blue Hills Ave. in Bloomfield. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and a chili challenge begins at 10:30, when cooks from the International Chili Association will compete.
