Montville Rotary Club recognizes Montville Businesses

The Montville Rotary Club recently recognized several Montville Businesses for their quick response and support for the Montville Cares Breast Cancer Tee Shirt. Montville Cares is a Breast Cancer Awareness program that was started by three boys at Tyl Middle School who have had close family members affected by Breast Cancer. The boys, Mike Kurasz, Jake Callahan and Kevin Doherty are all 8th graders at Tyl. They wanted to raise awareness and money for Breast Cancer. The boys came up with the idea “MONTVILLE CARES” and thought a tee-shirt would be a good way to show awareness and raise money for Breast Cancer. After they designed the tee shirts, they needed money to buy and print the tee-shirts. An email went out to a number of Montville Businesses asking for support. Within 24 hours, 19 businesses pledged to support the tee-shirts. The total number of sponsors had to be stopped at 22. Mrs. Dix, principal of Tyl Middle School spoke at the breakfast praising the caring and close knit community of Montville which is well represented by this kind of support from the businesses in Montville.

The Montville Businesses that supported the Montville Cares Tee Shirts are: Doherty Financial Services, Friendly’s Pizza, Shear Timing Hair Salon, Mark Kozlowski DMD, Dime Bank, Pennell’s Auto, Erasable Images, P&H Construction, P&H Septic Services, Advanced Self Storage, Montville Rotary, Montville Florist, Rand-Whitney, WR Allen Companies, Halloran & Associates CPAs, Chilis of Montville, Bouvier Insurance, Billy Caron and Family, Montville Police, Montville Youth Services, Montville Park and Rec and Montville Senior Center.
