The Westbrook girls' tennis squad remains unstoppable as it powered past its competition last week, shutting out both Coginchaug and Haddam-Killingworth, and defeating North Branford 6-1 as No. 1, 2, and 3 singles, as well as first and second doubles, remain undefeated.

On April 16, the Knights blanked Coginchaug 7-0 as Caroline Barton defeated one of the league's top players in Melanie Frank 6-2, 6-1, with wins also coming from Taylor Amendola, Erica Martel, and Liza Goldberg, who all won their respective singles matches in two sets, as did the doubles tandems of Kathlyn Cyr and Sarah Chapell, Callie Burns and Lydia Murphy, and Meghan Provost and Chloe Vincente.

Two days later, Westbrook beat Haddam-Killingworth 7-0. All players won easily and the match of the day went to both Martel, who won after falling behind 4-0 in the first set, and first doubles of Cyr and Chapell as they defeated Ashley Caruso and Emma Soneson in three sets by the count of 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (7-4).

Versus North Branford, the Knights defeated the T-Birds 6-1. Amendola played a solid match in which she fell behind 4-1 in the first set and 3-0 in the second in a three-hour match in which she won 6-4, 7-5.
