The Community Economic Development Fund, a nonprofit organization aimed at helping Connecticut small businesses thrive, is holding a workshop at Three Rivers Community College on May 11, 14, 15 and 16.
In this class, titled Understanding Business Finances and Tax Related Issues to Maximize Your Small Business Profit, entrepreneurs learn how to keep necessary records for their small businesses, set up functional record keeping systems and learn about financial statements and accounting methods best suited for their ventures. They also learn about Connecticut tax issues associated with small business ownership.
The four-night session is a prerequisite for CEDF's QuickBooks classes, which will follow later in the summer. It costs $45 for CEDF borrowers and partner organizations, and $75 for other business owners. For information, readers should call (203) 235-2333.
