UConn to play in Jimmy V Classic

UConn's non-conference schedule for the 2012-13 season is gradually filling out.

The Huskies will play North Carolina State in the Jimmy V Basketball Classic on Dec. 4 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Game time is 9 p.m.

Georgetown and Texas will meet in the first game of the doubleheader.

It will be UConn's first appearance in the Jimmy V Classic.

It will be the fifth meeting in the series. UConn and North Carolina State split the first four games, with the Wolfpack winning (65-62) in the last meeting in the 2005 NCAA tournament second round in Worcester.

In other non-conference games, UConn will host Washington on Dec. 29 in either Hartford or Storrs.

The Huskies will play in the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands from Nov. 16-19. Other teams in the field include George Mason, Iona, Mercer, New Mexico, Quinnipiac, Wake Forest and Illinois-Chicago.
