VH1 Classic
If "Wayne's World" had been real, actually landed on a legit network, and had the cachet to get actual rock stars to show up, you'd have "That Metal Show." The Wife Unit and I started watching for all the wrong reasons - yes, to make fun of it - and damned if they haven't sucked us in! Hosts Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson and Jim Florentine are hard rock and metal nuts well past the age when you'd think it would still be interesting to them, but they know their stuff and the enthusiasm is infectious. The set is cheesy, and audience members look like winos who found Poison T-shirts in a dumpster. But whether the guests are current - Lemmy, Slash, Lars Ulrich - or still-hanging-on - Jack Russell, dudes from Warrant - it all works in very strange but fun ways. And it's morbidly fascinating how the old stars hang on to The Look (I'm talking to YOU, Glenn Hughes).
