Stonington — A portion of Pequot Trail in the area of Castle Hill Road is now open after a car struck a tree.

Capt. Jerry Desmond said the car veered of the road and struck a tree. A portion of the tree fell and was blocking a lane of traffic.

A school bus carrying children was in the area, said Desmond. A tree branch fell on the bus, causing minimal damage to the vehicle.

Desmond said no injuries were reported. The accident happened shortly after 7 a.m.
