Norwich police arrest 4 during drug raid

Norwich — Four people were arrested during a drug raid Monday afternoon at a home on Central Avenue.

Police said at 12:45 p.m. they executed a search and seizure warrant at 328 Central Ave., Apt. 3B. and found crack cocaine, marijuana, a digital scale, packaging materials and over $2,200 in cash.

A baby was also found inside the dwelling.

Cedrick Veale, 23, of 328 Central Ave., Apt. 3B, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and risk of injury to a minor.

Mylinh Truong, 20, also of 328 Central Ave., Apt. 3B, was charged with risk of injury to a minor.

DaShawn Thompson, 19, of 93 School St., Apt. C, was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell and interfering with an officer.

Police said Thompson jumped off an 8-foot deck in an attempt to flee from them, but he was captured after a short foot chase.

Jamie Johnson, 20, of 30 Spaulding St., was charged with failure to respond to an infraction.

Veale, Truong and Thompson are being held on bond, pending their arraignment today in Norwich Superior Court.

Johnson was released on a $300 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned on June 14 in Norwich Superior Court.
