Raise Father's Day to an art form

Golly, I remember the Texas springtime when I mowed 6,023 lawns to earn enough to get the Old Man a special gift for Father's Day! Yep, I persuaded the Museo Lázaro Galdiano in Madrid to sell me Goya's "Witches' Sabbath." Dad loved it.

Here's a cheaper but very fun option in this context. This weekend, the Griswold Inn Store - Goods and Curiosities in Essex hosts a Father's Day art exhibition by tintype photographers J. Dole & Sons (see "Lighthouse," here). There's a Meet the Artists reception Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Show runs through Sunday. Hours are noon-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. 10 Main St., Essex.
