NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) — Police at Central Connecticut State University say a man suspected of phoning in a threat to the campus in New Britain was involved in a similar case a year ago.

The university said a person called campus police Wednesday morning and threatened to kill people. In response, it issued warnings for people to stay indoors and secure their doors.

Police later lifted the warning and said they had identified the caller as a person who was the subject of a similar alert in June 2011. They said the threat was directed toward a contract employee at the university.

Campus police distributed a photograph of the man with a request to be notified if he is seen on campus. Police said they had contacted him and were attempting to locate him.
