Founding member Maurice White can no longer tour with Earth, Wind & Fire since a diagnosis several years ago of Parkinson's Disease. However, iconic singer Phillip Bailey is still onboard, along with original members Verdine White and Ralph Johnson - and EWF remains a brilliantly formidable live act.
The band appears tonight in the Mohegan Sun Arena with a full string orchestra for added texture. Expect a runaway train-ride of hits including "Mighty Mighty," "September," "That's the Way of the World," "Sing a Song," "Boogie Wonderland," "Shining Star" and the supremely irresistible "Let's Groove."
Along with the Spinners, the Temptations, Kool and the Gang and Parliament, EWF are one of the greatest soul/funk bands ever. Exclamation point.
