Nancy Gray, president and executive director of the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce, is leaving to take a new job with the Meriden-based Community Economic Development Fund.

An email notification of the change was sent today by Stacie A. Lambert, chairman of the chamber's board, indicating that Gray had stepped down. The note said that Ginger Morse, who had previously announced her intention to leave the chamber, would stay on through the summer as membership and communications coordinator of the chamber.

Summer hours will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the weekdays.

"Nancy was instrumental in the growth of the chamber and we appreciate her loyalty and dedication," Lambert's special announcement said. "She plans on staying involved with the chamber."

Neither Lambert nor Gray could be immediately reached to confirm the report or give additional details. A call to the Community Economic Development Fund did not result in any information about what Gray's position with the group would be.

Lambert's note indicated that the chamber is already in the process of hiring a new executive director and that an announcement would be coming soon.
