UPDATED: Swimmer flown by Life Star from Misquamicut Beach

Westerly — Police said a swimmer was taken to the hospital by Life Star helicopter Friday afternoon following a boogie-boarding accident at Misquamicut State Beach.

The injuries were not life-threatening, according to the Westerly Ambulance Corps, which responded to the scene. The ambulance organization said they responded to calls for several neck injuries Friday.
