3 R.I. BEACHES OK'D AFTER TESTS

Bristol, R.I. - Rhode Island health officials have recommended the closure to swimming of a beach in Bristol and the reopening of others in Middletown, Newport and Tiverton. The Department of Health said Friday that swimmers should not use Bristol Town Beach because of high bacteria counts in the water. But officials said water quality tests show the bacteria levels are once again safe at Third Beach in Middletown, King's Park Beach in Newport and Grinnell's Beach in Tiverton.
