Stonington - The borough, especially Water Street, has a long history of being a bustling strip of shops, restaurants and many other types of businesses.
Now the La Grua Center, in conjunction with the Stonington Historical Society's House Tour on Oct. 6, is putting together an exhibit that will feature merchant signs and other memorabilia from village businesses that will be on display on October and November.
To put the exhibit together, the two organizations are asking residents and businesses owners to lend items to them to become part of the exhibit. The groups is primarily looking for signs, but are also interested in posters, postcards and other merchant items.
People willing to lend items for the display can contact La Grua Center staff at programmanager@lagruacenter.org or (860) 535-2300.
