Hartford (AP) — A new Quinnipiac University Poll shows Republican Linda McMahon has a slight lead over Democratic Rep. Chris Murphy in Connecticut's U.S. Senate race.

The survey, released Tuesday, shows 49 percent of likely voters back the former wrestling executive, while 46 percent support Murphy.

Poll Director Douglas Schwartz called the race "too-close-to-call," but said the latest poll numbers are good news for McMahon, who lost her bid for the U.S. Senate in 2010 against Sen. Richard Blumenthal. Schwartz credited McMahon with improving her image, saying voters like her more now than in 2010.

The same poll shows President Barack Obama leads former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, 52 percent to 45 percent.

The survey of 1,472 likely voters has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 2.6 percentage points.
