Tigers split series with ValleyCats

The Connecticut Tigers scored seven runs on 10 hits to defeat the Tri-City ValleyCats 7-3 at Dodd Stadium on Thursday night, splitting a two-game series with the ValleyCats. Carlos De Los Santos, Tyler Hanover and Zach Kirksey added RBI for the Tigers (31-38) in the victory.

The Tigers scored single runs in both the first and third innings. In the first inning De Los Santos walked and went to third base on a single by Jake Stewart (3-for-4). De Los Santos scored on a groundout by Kirksey for a 1-0 lead.

Danry Vasquez (2-for-5) singled with two outs in the third inning and went to second base when Kirksey walked. He scored on a single by Hanover for a 2-0 lead.

The Tigers play the Lowell Spinners at Dodd at 7:05 tonight on "Norwich Navigators Night," with the Tigers set to wear special Navigators jerseys at the game.
