Submarine veterans plan September events

Groton — The U.S. Submarine Veterans Groton Base has planned several events for September.

The monthly Steak N’ Eggs Brunch is cancelled for Sept. 2. Regular brunches are served on the remaining Sundays of the month, 10 a.m. to noon.

Due to the Labor Day holiday, Subvets will hold its monthly membership meeting for all members and anyone interested in joining on Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m. instead of Sept. 3.

The Subvets World War II chapter will meet for its monthly social and lunch Sept. 11, 11:30 a.m. at the clubhouse.

The Subvets annual Summer Steak and Lobster Dinner is Sept. 15. The options are single steak or lobster for $15, or double steak, double lobster or steak and lobster for $25. Dinner will be served from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and advance paid reservations are required by Sept. 12.

The Holland Club will meet for its monthly luncheon on Sept. 18 at 11:30 a.m. at the clubhouse. The guests are Capt. Mark VanYe and Command Master Chief Rory Wohlgemuth, of Regional Support Group Groton.
