Results of state police Labor Day traffic enforcement

State police made 59 arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and handed out 2,151 speeding tickets during the Labor Day weekend.

Police began their enforcement on Friday until midnight Monday.

State police also responded to 281 accidents including one with fatality in Vernon and 59 that involved injuries.

They also handed out 251 infractions for seat belt violations and 3,929 for hazardous moving violations.
