Yes, Bobby V., there is a Lynne Hanssen of North Stonington.

During a contentious radio interview on WEEI in Boston Wednesday afternoon, a question submitted by Hanssen got embattled Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine to acknowledge this season has been miserable but that he did not regret his return to managing.

Host Michael Holley introduced the weekly question for Mohegan Sun's "Ask The Manager" segment by saying it had been submitted by Lynne Hanssen of North Stonington.

"Given all the injuries, the win-loss record and all the drama that has happened around the team this year, do you regret returning to managing at all?" read Hanssen's question.

"That's a good one," Valentine responded. "I wonder if there's really a Lynne. I'd like to figure out all those questions, too."

Valentine went on to say he did not regret his decision to return to managing.

"Life, life is a journey guys, you have to understand that," he said. "Everyone thinks misery is something people run away from. You learn from misery. You learn from challenges. And you learn from failure as well as successes."

He added that while the season has been miserable, it's what he chose to do and part of his life's journey.

Hanssen, a lifelong Red Sox fan, had not heard that her question was read when contacted by The Day late Wednesday afternoon.

"Wow, that's amazing," she said.

Hanssen, a lifelong Sox fan, said that every Tuesday night she e-mails a question for the "Ask the Manager" segment. One of her questions was once chosen for former Red Sox skipper Terry Francona.
