Salute of mourning at Groton submarine memorial

Groton - Submarine veteran Jack Gallimore fired a 10-gauge Winchester saluting cannon as he and fellow members of the United States Submarine Veterans Groton Base held a remembrance ceremony to mark the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks held at the National Submarine Memorial in Groton Tuesday.

A total of 11 shots were fired at a rate of one per minute as a salute of mourning.
