By referring to the president's health care law as Obamacare in her letter, "Obama, not Ryan, ready to toss grandma" (Aug. 26), your East Lyme letter writer indicates that all she knows about the health care law is what Republican leaders, Rush Limbaugh or other far-right extremists told her. Actually, the $716 billion in savings the president hopes to make in Medicare would come from providers, mainly pharmaceutical and insurance companies who have been ripping off the government (and us the taxpayers).
Good luck hoping Paul Ryan's vouchers will cover the cost of health care when today's workers 55 and under retire.
