Taftville firefighters, police rescue deer

Norwich — Police and Taftville firefighters rescued two deer Thursday night who were caught in a fence in front of the Ponemah Mills on Taftville Occum Road.

While on patrol at about 8 p.m., Officer Nate Tondreau saw the deer. The Taftville fire department responded and were able to free the animals, which appeared to be uninjured.
