Candidate forum is Wednesday

The Day will present the latest in a series of candidate debates at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Acton Library in Old Saybrook. The forum is expected to last about two hours.

The first portion of the forum will feature the two candidates in the 23rd House District, incumbent Republican Rep. Marilyn Giuliano and Democrat Adam Stillman. Part two will feature a discussion among the candidates competing for the open 33rd Senate seat - Republican Art Linares, Democrat James Crawford and Green Melissa Schlag.

The 23rd House District includes all or portions of Old Saybrook, Lyme, Old Lyme and Westbrook; and the 33rd Senate District Old Saybrook, Westbrook, Clinton, Lyme, Essex, Deep River, Chester, East Haddam, Haddam, Colchester, East Hampton and Portland.

Audience members will have the opportunity to submit questions for the candidates in writing. Day Editorial Page Editor Paul Choiniere will moderate.
