I heard a funny story this morning.
A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a blog about the scrumptious corned beef grinder at Carlo and Son Quality Meats in East Lyme. Today, our executive editor Tim Dwyer told me he’s heard the butcher and grinder shop has been having trouble keeping the delicious cold cut on the shelves ever since the post went live, selling out by mid-morning.
I’ve often heard Stephen Colbert refer to the “Colbert Bump” on his show, The Colbert Report. This refers to when a guest comes on promoting a book, television show or movie, and sees a bump afterwards.
Could there now be a Dining Blog Bump? Am I a power broker of the level of Robert Moses or Joseph Kennedy?
One thing is for sure. I’m sending pre-emptive notices to the McMahon and Murphy campaigns: My influence will not be bought with Linda’s famous nachos or Chris’ beanie weenies.
