Even with Fact Check services it is very difficult to keep track of truth in politics. Both political parties lie and deceive the public. However, the lying and deceiving is not equal.

Based upon what is seen and heard on television and read in the newspapers and books, we have the Republicans symbolically arguing 1+1=3 and the Democrats symbolically arguing 1+1=2.5.

Now, we know of course from learning math in the second grade that both are false. However, if we see 1+1=3 and 1+1=2.5 often enough we may start to believe the math. Now if 1+1=3 is seen and heard more often than 1+1=2.5 we may think 1+1=3 is indeed the correct answer.

Unfortunately, today many do believe 1+1=3 thanks to the Citizens United decision by the Supreme Court. Basically, individuals of exorbitant wealth are providing funds to perpetrate lies, with most of the funds going to the Republican Party. Let's hope, come November the public is smarter than a second grader.
