Norwich -- The Greater Norwich Anti-Bullying Coalition will participate in National Bullying Prevention Month with a Bully-Busters Promotes National Bullying Prevention Month with a youth dance on Oct. 5 and a fundraiser Walk-Run-Roll event at Mohegan Park Oct. 6.

The group will have a First Friday For Youth Unity Dance for youths ages 11 through 15 at  United Congregational Church 87 Broadway from 6 to 9 p.m. The dance is free. Participants are asked to sign in when they arrive.

On Saturday, Oct. 6, registration will begin at 9 a.m. for a 1.5-mile fun run/walk/roll at 10 a.m. at Mohegan Park. Registration will take place at the park center water fountain, and the event route will encircle Spaulding Pond. The entry fee is a donation toward the Norwich Bully-Busters program.

“Bullying can lead to painful results not only for the youth who are bullied, but for the students who engage in it, the school, and the whole community,” said Debbie Kievits, coordinator of the anti-bullying program.

For more information and to register for the event, visit www.thebullybusters.webs.com or on Facebook at Norwich Bully-Busters or call Kievits at (860) 373-8630.

All proceeds from the Run, Walk, Roll Against Bullying will go to Norwich Bully-Busters programs.

Wednesday Oct. 10 is Unity Day, when people are asked to wear orange to “Unite Against Bullying.”
