Groton police veteran announces retirement; promotion announced

Groton - Groton City Police Officer David Brown, with more than three decades of service to the city, has announced his retirement. The department, meanwhile, plans to promote Officer Brian Connolly, a seven-year veteran of the force, to the rank of corporal.

Both the retirement and promotion are up for approvals at a special meeting of the mayor and City Council at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Municipal Building.
