A Norwich firefighter killed in the line of duty more than 70 years ago will have his name added Sunday to the state firefighters’ memorial in Windsor Locks.

Patrick J. Brennan, killed Oct. 13, 1930, will be added to the memorial at 12:30 p.m. during the 10th annual Firefighters Memorial Service at the state fire academy.

“This memorial service provides us all with a valuable opportunity to honor all of the brave firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty,” State Fire Administrator Jeff Morrissette said in a release. “We will never forget the sacrifices they have made.”

Also added will be George Marshall Sanford, of the Redding Fire & EMS Company #1, who was killed April 15 of this year.
