New London — The U.S. Coast Guard Band will present a program of Broadway musical favorites at 2 p.m., Oct. 14, in Leamy Concert Hall at the Coast Guard Academy.

The concert opens with selections from the popular operetta “Candide.” Weikleenget performs classics from “West Side Story” and “The Fantastics,” along with newer favorites.

Weisbrod is featured on the popular Gershwin standard “S’Wonderful” from “Funny Face.” The two soloists collaborate on songs from “Ragtime,” “Phantom of the Opera” and “South Pacific.” One of the band’s newest members, pianist Musician First Class Robert Langslet, performs “Broadway Show-stoppers Overture.”

This event is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required. The hall is handicapped accessible. For more information on the band, visit www.uscg.mil/band or call the Concert Information Line at (860) 701-6826.
