Norwich — City firefighters Monday night quickly extinguished a kitchen fire at a two-family home at 62 School St.

Fire Inspector Jake Manke said firefighters had the blaze under control within minutes. The fire was contained to the kitchen. The fire was reported at 8:50 p.m.

He said the tenant of the home was able to remain in the dwelling.

In addition to city firefighters, a Mohegan Tribal FAST team also responded.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
