Whaling City Film Competition kicks off Friday

Neff Productions, in association with SECT Film and the New London Film Commission, announce the fourth annual Whaling City Film Project filmmaking competition.

Teams have four days to script, shoot, edit and score a short film between 4 to 7 minutes long within a four-day period. This Friday at 7 p.m. teams must meet at the Garde Art Center Gallery, 325 State St., New London, to pick up the mandatory criteria for the film, including a random genre, a prop, a character's name and a line of dialogue. Some footage must be shot in New London.

Cash prizes will be awarded after a public screening and reception at the Garde Art Center on Friday, Oct. 12, at 6 p.m.
