Foxwoods campaign earns a Sherpie

Published October 13. 2012 4:00AM

Foxwoods Resort Casino was honored last month at the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas with a Sherpie Award for "Best Facebook Promotion."

Presented by Masterminds, a travel and leisure ad agency, the award recognizes the Best Social Media Marketing in the casino industry.

The honor cited Foxwoods' "Anything But Ordinary" and "Ultimate Weekend Giveaway" Facebook promotions, which resulted in a 257 percent increase in the number of Foxwoods' Facebook "fans" and generated nearly 143 million Facebook impressions, the casino said.

Foxwoods unveiled the promotions in connection with its 20th anniversary in February.
