VETERANS PLAN SEVERAL EVENTS AT SUBMARINE BASE

Groton - The U.S. Submarine Veterans Groton Base has planned several events.

The Holland Club will meet for its monthly luncheon on Oct. 16 at 11:30 a.m. at the clubhouse, 40 School St. The commanding officer and the command master chief of the Naval Submarine School will be the guests for this luncheon.

Subvets will host the annual local CO/XO/COB reception Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. All area commanding officers, executive officers and chiefs of the boat and their spouses are invited to attend.

The Subvets Steamship Round Dinner is Oct. 27, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Advance paid reservations of $15 per person are required by Oct. 24.

Subvets will hold a fundraiser Nov. 3 at the Groton Walmart, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the proceeds going toward the annual Thanksgiving Dinner.

The monthly Steak N' Eggs Brunch will be on Nov. 4. Regular brunches are served on the remaining Sundays of the month, 10 a.m. to noon. The monthly membership meeting for members and anyone interested in joining will be on Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m.
