Foreclosure help found online

People facing foreclosure are getting new help from a two-year-old website, KnowYourOptions.com, that allows Fannie Mae to provide more tools than ever before for homeowners in trouble.

The renovated site features expanded content, including new calculators, tools and extra refinancing information.

Homeowners also will be guided to potential options that may be available to help with their situation, such as the Home Affordable Refinance Program or the Home Affordable Modification Program. They also can get recommendations on next steps, and - if a Fannie Mae borrower - receive mortgage assistance by requesting an appointment directly with a Fannie Mae Mortgage Help Center.
