Dump Montville idea for trash collection

A recent proposal in Montville for town-wide trash collection is another example of government growth that is expensive, unnecessary, and unwelcome. With the closing of AES Thames, the Rand Whitney lawsuit, and the upgrading of our schools and police department, taxes are high enough.

Why add another service to the tax burden when what is already available works well? Private contractors have been picking up trash for years. The transfer station is accessible for anyone who wishes to dispose of their own trash.

Do we need big government mandating another expensive service that many do not need or want?
