I'd like to respond to the Oct. 13 letter "Romney presidency would divide nation." The nation is already divided and the gap has been widening for the last 70 years. It's not rich or poor, white or black, or even educated versus the ignorant. It comes down to the makers versus the takers.
Look up the tax records and you'll find the truth. Half this nation lives off greedy, grasping, robbery of the other half by way of the tax code, tax laws and statutes on the books.
My car insurance is higher at the baseline because lawmakers have made sure I'm paying for other people's insurance. Obamacare is using my tax dollars to pay for abortions. My taxpayer dollars are even supporting Egypt's corrupt regime and Obama is doubling down on the funding.
Romney said his test would be simple on cutting programs. Is it worth borrowing the money to pay for it? You'll find people like me who will say no, but the takers will always say yes because it ends up on their dinner table.
Chop down the free money tree. We'll lose the shade but the sunlight will feel good on your face.
