Register online or by phone to get FEMA aid

Hartford -- Residents in New London and Middlesex counties who experienced storm-related damage must register online or by phone with FEMA to access federal aid, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy announced today.

Online applications may be completed at www.disasterassistance.gov. To register by phone, call 1-800-621-3362.

"This declaration will bring much-needed financial assistance to residents who were impacted by Hurricane Sandy," Malloy said in a statement. "But it is critical to note that you must register with FEMA to begin the process of accessing possible federal assistance. We will continue to work to get the rest of the counties in the state declared."
