LVVS hosts tasting event

Literacy Volunteers Valley Shore will hold its second annual Wine and Brew Tasting and Silent Auction on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Essex Meadows, 30 Bokum Road, Essex.

Tickets are $25 and are available at the Literacy Volunteers office at the Westbrook Library, 61 Goodspeed Drive or by calling (860) 399-0280. All proceeds benefit LVVS, which provides small group and one-on-one literacy tutoring in Chester, Clinton, Deep River, Essex, Guilford, Killingworth, Lyme, Madison, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and Westbrook.
